Copyright and takedown requests

Riot Prints sells artwork we design ourselves. We do not sell reproductions of photographs, album artwork, film stills or club crests, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the people, clubs, teams, films or bands our prints refer to.

If you believe a print on this site infringes your copyright, trade mark or other rights, tell us and we will act on it. You do not need a solicitor and you do not need to threaten us — a clear message is enough.

How to send a notice

Use the form at the bottom of this page, or email help@riotprints.co.uk with the subject line Takedown request. Please include all of the following, or we will have to come back to you and it will take longer.

  1. The listing. The full web address of the print, plus its title. If more than one, list every address.
  2. The right you are relying on. Copyright, registered trade mark, unregistered trade mark, image or personality rights, or something else.
  3. The work or mark itself. A description of what you own and where we can see it — a link, a registration number, or an attachment.
  4. Your standing. Confirm that you are the rights holder, or that you are authorised to act on their behalf, and say who they are.
  5. Your contact details. Name, organisation if you have one, email address and a postal address.
  6. Two statements, in your own words: that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law; and that the information in your notice is accurate.
  7. Your name, typed at the end. An electronic signature is fine.

What happens next

We aim to acknowledge every notice within 5 working days.

Where a notice is complete and the claim is arguable, we take the listing down first and look at it properly afterwards. Removing a print is not an admission that a claim is correct — it is us being careful while we check.

We will tell you the outcome either way. If we decide a print does not infringe anything and should go back up, we will explain why.

If you think we removed something wrongly

If your design has been taken down and you believe the claim against it is mistaken, email the same address and set out why. We will consider both sides. Where a dispute cannot be settled between us, it is a matter for the courts rather than for us to decide.

Repeat notices

We keep a record of the notices we uphold. Where a design line generates repeated valid complaints, we withdraw it from the shop rather than deal with them one at a time.

Our own work

Everything Riot Prints sells is our own original artwork and is protected in the same way. If you find our designs being sold elsewhere, please tell us at the same address.

This page explains how we handle rights complaints. It is not legal advice, and nothing on it limits any right you have to take a matter further.
